FAQ
Everything you need to know before, during, and after your order. If something's missing, write to us.
Every piece is made to order. We begin production only after your order is placed — your piece is made specifically for you, not pulled from a shelf. Our bestsellers are produced in small batches but follow the same standard.
Yes. Customisation options vary by product — size, stone, finish where applicable. All available options are listed on each product page. Select your preferences before adding to cart.
Choose your size and customisation on the product page and add to cart. No consultation needed for standard orders. If you have a specific query, write to us before ordering.
9 karat gold contains 37.5% pure gold, alloyed with other metals for strength and durability. It is solid gold throughout — not plated, not filled. We offer pieces in yellow gold and white gold.
BIS 375 is the Bureau of Indian Standards hallmark for 9K gold. It certifies that the gold content of your piece has been independently verified and meets the legal standard. When you see this mark, you know exactly what you're buying.
Depending on the piece, we work with a wide range of stones including Garnet, Turquoise, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Emerald, Pearl, and more. Each product page specifies the stone used, and you can find detailed care instructions for each in our Care Guide.

Yes. You will receive a tracking link once your piece ships.
We accept returns for manufacturing defects only, within 30 days of delivery.
A manufacturing defect is something that went wrong in production — an unsecured setting, a broken chain link at the join, a hallmark not applied. It is not a preference change, a sizing issue, or normal tarnish.
To raise a claim: send clear photographs of the defect within 30 days of delivery. Do not return the piece until we have confirmed your claim. We will assess and respond within 5 business days. Resolution will be either a replacement or a full refund, at our discretion after assessment. The piece must be unworn and in the condition it was received.

No. Because every piece is made specifically for your order, there is no inventory to exchange against. We strongly recommend using the Sizing Guide carefully and writing to us before ordering if you have any doubt about size.
Surface tarnish — 9K gold can develop a patina with regular wear, especially on pieces in frequent contact with skin, perfume, or water. This is normal and can be cleaned. See our Care Guide.
Bent or deformed pieces — Rings and bangles can bend under impact or pressure. This is a wear issue, not a manufacturing defect.
Loose stones — A stone that was insecure at delivery is a defect we'll cover. One that loosens after regular wear is maintenance.
Yes. Two years after delivery, you have the option to sell your piece back to UNPLATED. You will receive the current market rate for the gold content of your piece at the time of buyback.
Two options. First: measure the inner diameter of a ring you already own that fits the intended finger, using a ruler. Second: cut a narrow strip of paper, wrap it snugly around the finger, mark where the paper meets itself, and measure the length.
Do this a couple of times — finger size can vary slightly across the day. See the full Sizing Guide for reference charts.
5.5" to 7.5" in 0.5" increments.
14" to 24" in 2" increments.
Because pieces are made to order, we are unable to resize or exchange after production. Please measure carefully before ordering. If you're unsure, write to us before placing your order.
For plain 9K gold: soak in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 5–10 minutes. Clean gently with a soft cloth or soft-bristled toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly under lukewarm running water and dry completely before storing. A jeweller's polishing cloth works well on plain gold surfaces — avoid using it directly on gemstones.
For gemstone pieces, follow the stone-specific guidance below or in the full Care Guide.
When in doubt, a soft dry cloth is safe for every stone.
- Warm soapy water and a soft brush — fine for routine cleaning
- Rinse and dry fully after washing
- Warm soapy water with a soft cloth — no scrubbing
- Avoid ultrasonic cleaners
- Keep amethyst and citrine away from prolonged direct sunlight — both can fade
- Wipe with a soft damp cloth only — no soaking, ever
- Keep away from perfume, sweat, and household chemicals
- Remove before swimming, showering, or any water exposure
- Pearls are particularly sensitive to acids — put jewellery on last, wipe after every wear
Store each piece separately — gold scratches against other metals, and harder stones scratch softer ones. The cloth pouch your piece arrives in is designed for exactly this.
- Keep jewellery out of bathrooms — daily humidity accelerates tarnish
- Avoid direct sunlight — amethyst and citrine in particular can fade
- A dry bedside drawer is ideal
- Anti-tarnish strips inside your storage pouch help on pieces worn infrequently
