currently the cheapest we will ever be

Our prices will never be lower.

If you've been waiting for a sign to buy the pretty little gold thing you've had open in your browser for three weeks, this is probably it. That's because —

Right now, UNPLATED is a very small operation. As in, extremely small. As in, the entire operation is currently being run by one founder, one laptop, several spreadsheets, and a cat who contributes mostly through emotional support.

The good news The founder currently has only herself to pay.
The less good news She has also taken a fairly enthusiastic haircut on the first collection.

So yes, these prices are currently being held together by optimism, caffeine and the absence of a payroll.

There is, however, a small catch.

Gold has been doing what gold does best: making everyone slightly uncomfortable.

A piece I prototyped 2 years ago doubled in value in just the amount of time it took me to set up and launch UNPLATED.

So while today's prices are based on today's costs, they are also based on a founder who is currently willing to make rather less money than she eventually intends to.

At some point, the maths will catch up with me. Until then, you get the slightly ridiculous early-founder pricing. I get to see whether this whole jewellery-company idea was genius, delusional, or some exciting combination of both.

₹4k ₹7–8k

to make the same piece · 2024 vs. now

That's nearly a 2x jump in two years. Which, frankly, is better than my SIP.

You could call it an early-bird price. I prefer to think of it as you getting in before I gather my marbles. And if you do buy something, thank you for being one of the first people to take a chance on UNPLATED.

It'll be worth it.
